Overview

What to expect

When a tree limb punches a hole in your roof or a thunderstorm pushes water through a failed seam, every hour matters. Consumer First Roofing keeps a dedicated emergency line and crew available so we can tarp, dry-in and stabilize damage quickly, often the same day. Once the home is secure, we document everything for your insurance carrier and walk you through the full repair process.

Alongside this service, our crew also handles storm damage roof repair, roof leak repair, roof insurance claims and roof repair across Spartanburg, Greenville and the Upstate.

Why homeowners choose this service

  • Rapid response

Emergency calls are routed directly to a senior team member, not an answering service.

  • Immediate tarping

We carry tarps, plywood and emergency sealant on every truck to stabilize damage on the spot.

  • Full documentation

Photos, measurements and a written damage report you can hand directly to your adjuster.

  • Permanent repairs

After the emergency is secure, we schedule the full repair or replacement on your timeline.

What counts as a roofing emergency, and what to do right now

Call the emergency line immediately if water is actively coming inside, if wind or a fallen limb has torn off or opened a section of roof, or if any part of the roof or ceiling is sagging, because those are structural risks. Slow drips, a few missing shingles or minor granule loss are urgent but not emergencies, and can wait for a next-day inspection. While you wait, move furniture and valuables out of the way, put a bucket under the drip and, if a ceiling is bulging, pierce it at the lowest point with a screwdriver so water drains in one place instead of collapsing the drywall. Never climb onto a wet or storm-damaged roof yourself; we tarp and dry-in the opening, then document everything for your insurance carrier.

Common problems we solve

  • Water dripping or running from a ceiling or a light fixture
  • A brown or yellow stain on the ceiling that keeps getting bigger
  • A limb or debris sitting on the roof after a storm
  • Shingles, metal panels or flashing torn loose, or pieces of them in the yard
  • Daylight coming through the roof deck when you look in the attic
  • A ceiling or section of roof that is sagging or bulging (structural, do not wait on it)
Our process

A clear path from first call to clean job site.

  1. 01

    First, we talk

Your call goes to a senior team member instead of an answering service, and we tell you what to do in the next ten minutes.

  2. 02

    Then we stabilize

Every truck already carries tarps, plywood and sealant, so we can dry-in the opening quickly, often the same day.

  3. 03

    We check the whole roof

Once the house is secure we go over the full roof and the attic, because the spot you can see is rarely the only place water got in.

  4. 04

    We document for insurance

We photograph and measure everything and write it up so your adjuster has what they need.

  5. 05

    Then the permanent repair

It comes after the home is secure, scheduled for whenever works on your end.

My roof is leaking during a storm. What do I do right now?

Get furniture and anything you care about away from the drip and put a bucket under it. If a patch of ceiling is bulging with trapped water, poke it at the lowest point with a screwdriver. It sounds wrong, but draining it in one spot beats letting the whole thing come down. Do not go up on a wet or damaged roof yourself. Call us, we will walk you through it, and we will get a crew out to tarp the opening.

Is a roof leak actually an emergency?

If water is coming inside, part of the roof is open to the sky, or anything is sagging, then yes. Water moves into insulation, drywall and framing faster than people expect. A couple of missing shingles with no leak is worth fixing, but it can wait for a next-day visit.

Can you repair a roof while it is still raining?

In the rain we tarp and dry-in the opening, which stops more water getting in. That is the job during a storm. The actual repair waits until the surface is dry, otherwise the new material will not bond or seal the way it should. So it happens in two steps: stop the water now, fix it right once things dry out.

Does homeowners insurance cover a roof leak from a storm?

Usually, yes, for sudden storm and wind damage, and for reasonable emergency work like tarping after a covered loss. What insurers tend not to cover is slow wear or a roof that was neglected for years. We document the damage the way carriers want to see it and meet your adjuster up on the roof, so the claim rests on evidence instead of a guess.

How fast can you get here?

For active leaks and storm calls in our area, it is usually the same day, and the next business day at the latest.

Can the whole repair be done in a day?

The tarp and dry-in part is usually same-day. The full repair depends on how bad the damage is and what materials it needs. Plenty of smaller repairs wrap up in a day, bigger ones take longer, and we give you that timeline in writing after we inspect.

Do you respond after hours?

Yes. Our emergency line is monitored outside of normal business hours for active leaks and storm damage situations.

Will insurance cover the emergency tarp?

Most homeowner policies cover reasonable emergency mitigation costs after a covered loss. We provide documentation that helps your adjuster approve the expense.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Every homeowner across Upstate South Carolina gets a free, no-pressure roof estimate with a photo-documented inspection report.

Are you licensed and insured?

Consumer First Roofing carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and we work as a fully licensed South Carolina roofing contractor.

How long does a typical project take?

Most residential roof replacements are completed in a single day. Larger or more complex projects may take two to three days depending on roof size, weather and material selection.
